Events That
Tell a Story
A glimpse into the stages Divya has hosted across 7+ years.
Panvel birthdays often blend the traditional and the modern
and the host has to give both their space.
Old Panvel has its own community halls, New Panvel has the bigger banquets, and most families want a bit of both worlds in the running order.
Panvel is one of the older settled parts of this side of the city, and the Maharashtrian and Agri community families here have their own way of running a birthday. The aukshan, the elders’ blessings, and the family rituals come before the cake. Divya Shah builds the running order around the traditions instead of treating them as an add-on at the end.
The newer New Panvel side has bigger banquets and society clubhouses where the parties run more like the ones in Kharghar or Belapur. Divya works in both registers and matches the script to whichever side of Panvel the family is on. The whole evening can run in Marathi if that is what the family wants.

Timeless Memories

Two birthday parties
Divya has hosted in Panvel
A grandmother’s 75th with the whole extended family from the Konkan side.
The grandmother had grown up in a village near Roha. About sixty of her side of the family had come in for the weekend and most of them spoke only Marathi.
“Divya ran the whole evening in Marathi and built the script around her village stories instead of the standard tribute format.”
The aukshan was done by the daughters before the cake. The grandmother told the family later that for the first time, the party had been on her terms.
A first birthday where the parents wanted the rituals and a proper photo session.
The family had a photographer, a decor team, and a traditional aukshan all in the same running order. The grandparents wanted the rituals first and the parents wanted clean photos of everything.
“Divya ran the aukshan and the cake moment back to back so the photographer had both in the same lighting setup.”
The grandparents got the order they wanted and the photographer got the frames he needed. The parents said it was the only event of the year where nothing had to be redone.
What she brings to
your family birthday party
A few things that tend to matter most at these events.
Hosts the full evening in Marathi
Panvel families are often Marathi-first. Divya hosts in Marathi without it feeling translated and switches to Hindi or English only where the family wants it.
Builds rituals into the running order
The aukshan, family blessings, and traditional sequences get their proper place in the script, not a slot at the end.
A fresh script every time
Every birthday script gets written from scratch after a sit-down with the family. Nothing is reused from a previous event.

Questions Panvel families ask first
Straight answers to the things people actually ask.
Yes. Old Panvel has its own set of wedding halls and community spaces that double as birthday venues, and New Panvel has the bigger banquets and society clubhouses. Divya has hosted on both sides.
Yes. A lot of Panvel families, including Maharashtrian and Agri community families, are Marathi-first. Divya hosts comfortably in Marathi for the full evening and brings in Hindi or English only if the family asks.
Yes. Panvel sits on the Pune highway and a lot of birthdays here have family driving in from Pune, Lonavala, and the Konkan side. Divya shares a clean running order with the family so the visiting relatives know what to expect and when.
Yes. If the family wants to include an aukshan or a more traditional sequence, Divya runs it cleanly alongside the cake-cutting and family tributes. She works with the family to set the order in advance.
Old Panvel halls and New Panvel banquets fill up early in the wedding season. Two to three months ahead is usually safe, three to four months for a milestone birthday in the busier months.
