The NRI Complex generation moved here in the late nineties, raised kids who went abroad, and now host weddings where half the guests are flying in from Toronto, Dubai or Singapore. The other half is local. Doctors, merchant navy officers, second-generation NRI Complex residents. A typical guest list runs the full spectrum.
This audience tunes out a host who screams into the mic. They have seen too many weddings. They have sat through too many anchor segments that ran on Bollywood references and dated wedding jokes.
