Wakad sits at the PCMC border and the open lawns near Bhumkar Chowk are some of the largest wedding venues in Pune. Most weddings we host here are 1500 to 2000 guests, with a guest list that mixes local Maharashtrian families with IT professionals from neighbouring Hinjewadi. The wedding stops being indoor at this scale.
Before the function, we walk the venue with the audio team. Speaker reach, monitor levels, and mic placement get agreed on with the engineer who will actually be running the desk. Acoustics on a Wakad lawn at 4pm during soundcheck do not match what happens at 9pm with 1800 people in the space, and the walkthrough is what catches that.
