Kondhwa is one of southeast Pune’s most established neighbourhoods, with weddings concentrated at the NIBM Road lawns, Kondhwa premium banquets, and resort venues along the corridor. The functions here often run 1500 to 2000 guests with a strong tradition of large Nikaah and Walima formats alongside other community weddings.
Before the function, we sit with the family and the moulana or priest depending on the format. The ritual sequence, the seating arrangement, and the points where the hosting is welcome versus when the family wants the mic to stay out get confirmed in advance. The script is built around that brief rather than against it.
The languages get mapped to the side and the segment. Hindi and Urdu for the family side during the Nikaah and family introductions. English as the bridge for the guests who fly in.
